O Edifíco encontra-se num lugar com muitas histórias, onde se cruzava a estrada Caldas da Rainha / Lisboa com a estrada Alenquer / Oeste.
O Largo Wellington, outrora a localização do Mercado do Peixe da cidade, localiza-se nas imediações de dois monumentos nacionais - a Igreja de S. Pedro e o Chafariz dos Canos a ‘mais monumental fonte gótica nacional’.
Com características construtivas do início do século XX, o edifício é composto por um de rés-chão dedicado ao comércio e um primeiro piso com três habitações, com a sua reabilitação procura-se oferecer à cidade tipologias de habitação mais contemporâneas e flexíveis, contribuindo para a revitalização do seu centro. O programa procura manter e requalificar os espaços de comércio, e aumentar o número das habitações tirando partido das águas furtadas.
Tendo em conta o olhar privilegiado que o edifício tem sobre os monumentos envolventes o mesmo mantêm-se o mais silencioso possível ao nível das suas fachadas e fenetrações, ou seja, mantém-se o mais possível o existente, valorizando o embasamento em azulejo azul e branco da fachada principal, e devolvendo alguma ordem a fenestração da fachada tardoz.
